Making of the Universe
Aim: To intiate students into an understanding of the nature of the universe in terms of its principial constituents (matter and energy) and its interactions (mainly in the form of the 4 fundamental forces)
Course Overview: This course begins with the big bang and proceeds through various stages of evolution of our universe from the formation of the 1st atoms to the formations of stars galaxies and our very own solar system.
Topics:
1) Origin and evolution of the UniverseKey Concepts: Force, Energy, Matter and their interrelationships
2) Origin and evolution of our solar system with special focus on earth
Key Concepts:
The physics that shaped the structure of earth and other planets
3) Structure and Working of the earth in detail
Key Concepts:
How did the different layers of the earth form and their predicted future evolution.
The physical dynamics of land, ocean and air and its significance to earth's climate, life and its connection with engineering and technology
